This March FDKM is hosting 2 Introduction to Krav Maga 4-Week Courses.
The first course is for beginner adults looking to try out Krav Maga for the first time. The Introduction Course has been a staple of FDKM for the last 13 years & it only improves with age!
The objective of this course is to introduce the participants to the theories, techniques and tactics of the Krav Maga system. We'll cover a variety of topics including:
- Fundamental striking and strike defenses
- Releases from common grabs & holds such as chokes and bearhugs
- How to fall safely and defend from the ground
- Basic boundary setting and stress management
- Principles of protecting others
- Using the environment to your advantage
Dates: March 4 - 27; Monday & Wednesday evenings
Times: 6:15-7:00pm

The 2nd Introduction course is for kids ages 8-13 (younger children can be accepted into the course in special circumstances. Please contact us if your child is 5-7 years old).
Similar to the Adult course, this Youth course is a 4-week/8-session introduction to Krav Maga self-defense and our community here at First Defense.
In each of the 8 session we will explore an important topic in self-defense.
- Basic strikes & strike defenses
- Releases from common grabs & holds
- Setting healthy boundaries
- Falling safely
- When & how to stand up for others
- Effective decision-making
- How to use common objects for self-defense
Dates: March 5 - 28; Tuesdays & Thursdays
Times: 5:00-5:45pm
