KRAV MAGA FOR ADULTS & KIDS
Krav Maga (a Hebrew term that translates to "contact combat") is a practical and tactical system that teaches how to prevent, deal with and overcome all kinds of threats and violent attacks. An ever-evolving system, Krav Maga excels the subjects of self-defense, self-protection, fighting and combat skills (as well as skills to defend others).
Krav Maga was developed in Israel by Imi Lichtenfeld (Sde-Or) for the newly formed Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). In order to meet the most rigorous real-world demands, Imi made sure Krav Maga utilized natural and intuitive movements, was easy to learn and remember, and was simple enough to be used effectively under stressful conditions. Adapted for civilian, law enforcement, and military sectors, Krav Maga continues to be refined under the guidance of Imi's successor, Eyal Yanilov, and other highly knowledgeable instructors.
What do we train on:
- Prevention, avoidance, escape & evasion
- Striking and counterattacks
- Defending against all types of unarmed attacks
- Releases from all types of grabs & holds
- Defending against threats and attacks with all kinds of weapons
- Developing the ability to function effectively under stressful conditions
ADULT KRAV MAGA
First Defense's adult Krav Maga program is designed to be a dynamic, full-body workout while simultaneously educating the student on essential self-defense and self-protection principles, tactics and techniques. We have classes for all experience levels, including a special apprentice program for those wanting to teach Krav Maga under First Defense.
We recommend all students new to First Defense (even if you are not new to Krav Maga) try us out with a 3-class trial pass. Apart from getting to know our instructors and how our classes are run, you'll also gain some insight into our student community and discover if our school is the right fit for you.
FDKM YOUTH KRAV MAGA
FDKM's Youth Krav Maga program adapts our adult Krav Maga curriculum for a younger audience. Students will learn and develop skills around communication, conflict resolution, and decision-making and stress management so they understand when to use their Krav Maga skills and how to effectively implement them in any situation.
No mater the age or level of ability, children in our program will learn and develop a basic self-defense skill set including striking and defending strikes, releases from holds and grabs, situational & environmental awareness, defending themselves on the ground, and when & how to stand up for others.
Like the adult program, all Youth members will start out with a trial. A 3-class pass is available to help you decide if Krav Maga is a right choice for your child.
