World's Leading Krav Maga and Self-Defense Expert from Israel Trains Up-and-Coming Instructors at East Coast's Leading Krav Maga and Self-Defense Training Facility Located in Herndon, VA.
Herndon, Virginia, May 2013 — From May 18th -29th First Defense Krav Maga in Herndon will be hosting Israel’s Eyal Yanilov, the world's leading Krav Maga practitioner and instructor, for Krav Maga Global’s prestigious General Instructor Course.
Eyal Yanilov has been practicing Krav Maga since 1974 at the age of 15, when he began direct instruction under the system’s founder, Imi Sde-Or (Imirich Lichtenfeld). Grand Master Imi Sde-Or noted his remarkable talent and recruited Eyal to train high level students and instructors and was the only person the Grandmaster personally awarded both the Founder’s Diploma of Excellence and then-unprecedented rank of Expert 8. Imi and Eyal then wrote a series of books laying out the principles of the Krav Maga aimed at the civilian sector. Following which Eyal then created a new curriculum for Krav Maga, and transformed it into an organized, formal system built on principles of action and unique instructional methods. In addition to his civilian training, Eyal has also trained anti-terrorist units in Israel and since Imi’s death in 1998; Eyal has held the responsibility of leading the continuing development of Krav Maga for civilians as well as military and law enforcement across the globe.
First Defense Krav Maga is honored to not only have Eyal Yanilov here for a second time -the school hosted the U.S. Krav Maga Instructors Update training in November under Eyals direction- but also to have two other global experts conducting this intensive nine day training. Ilya Dunsky, Expert 4 and Ran Laskov, Expert 1, from Israel will also be training and advising students in this unique training opportunity at First Defense in Herndon. Ilya Dunsky, has vast military training experience and was an instructor at the world renowned Wingate Combat Fitness School and Lotar Counter Terrorist School.
First Defense Krav Maga, who already has more KMG certified instructors than any other East Coast school, will have six students attending for certification as full or assistant instructors and a number of other students attending the Part 1 of the intensive three part course -more than any other school or state.
First Defense Krav Maga owner and head Instructor Nick Masi, the highest ranking instructor on the East Coast and only one of only 6 instructors in the U.S. who currently hold the rank of Graduate 5. Since the studios two and half years of operation, Nick has personally trained three individuals to go on to be fully certified instructors and three to be certified assistant instructors - First Defense is truly a school focused on leadership development and the leading Krav Maga training facility with more certified and high ranking instructors than any school on the East Coast. Nick Masi is also a Regional Representative for Krav Maga Global, assisting with the development of instructors and schools in the Northeast.

On Wednesday, May 15th at 6:30-9:30pm, Ilya Dunsky will be conducting a seminar on Krav Maga Fighting Tactics. At 6:30-9:30pm on Wednesday, May 22nd Eyal Yanilov will conduct a seminar on defending yourself during a home invasion.
