Youth Development Coaching
FDKM's Youth Development Coaching Program is a comprehensive and age-appropriate self-defense and self-development program. The 2 main components of the program are (1) Krav Maga and self-defense techniques and tactics and (2) "soft" skills such as communication, boundary-setting, decision-making, and stress management.
The FDKM Youth Development Coaching Program is a hybrid course meaning we will use best practices to deliver the content of the course. Currently, the program is completely online. There is material the student will receive each week to review on their own and during virtual "check-ins" with the instructor, they will have the ability to fine-tune, ask questions and expand on the material. As COVID-19 restrictions ease and we welcome students back to the studio, there will be options for in-person "check-ins" with the instructor as well as options to participate in regular group classes.
At FDKM, we have 4 "Divisions" which correspond to the students' age range. These are:
- Kids - Ages 5-7
- Youth - Ages 8-10
- Junior - Ages 11-13
- Teen - Ages 13-15
While there may be some overlap in material from on Division to another, content is curated to be age-appropriate and relevant to the needs of the student.
The program for all Divisions begins with a 2-month online Introduction Course where they will learn the fundamentals of Krav Maga and self-defense. After those two months, together we we evaluate how the program is working for you. At that point, you can (1) decide to complete the training & walk away with very valuable information and skills or you could (2) continue training via the online Coaching Program or (3) choose to join us at the studio for our traditional Krav Maga Program.
Registration links for all Divisions are below. If you have any questions about the program or which Division your child should join, please give us a call at 703-835-9054 or email us at [email protected].
