Starting on Monday, October 21st, we will once again be holding classes at the Ohr Kodesh Congregation in Chevy Chase, MD.
We have a limited Fall schedule before going back to a weekly schedule in 2014. For the Fall of 2013, Classes are on Monday nights from 7:30-9:00pm and will start October 21 and run through November 18.
The classes will be held at the Ohr Kodesh Congregation, 8300 Meadowbrook Lane, Chevy Chase, MD 20815.

The Israeli Tactical Shooting Program kicks off in January with 2 options for the Basic class - Introduction to Israeli Counter-Terrorism Shooting Techniques: January 13th, 3pm January 26th, 4pm This 2.5 hour course will introduce yo to the building blocks of Israeli Instinctive Shooting.
First Defense will be closed for a Holiday Break between December 24 - January 1. The regular class schedule will resume on Wednesday, January 2.

First Defense, in collaboration with the Krav Maga Self-Defense Meetup Group and She Can Shoot, is offering a one-hour women-only self-defense class on December 19th at 7pm. These beginner-level Krav Maga classes will cover some basic techniques and principles as they relate to common threats and attacks women may face.
The next session of our popular 8-week Krav Maga Foundations Course starts on January 9 & runs through February 27, 2013. What we'll cover over the course of the 8 week: Basic Striking Using Hands, Elbows, Knees & Legs Defending Strikes Releases from Chokes Releases from Headlocks Releases from Bearhugs Releases from Wrist Grabs Using Common Objects for self-defense Situational Awarenss Defending Yourself on the Ground Dealing with Stress Developing the Proper Mental Attitude Participants are also welcome to attend the Monday night Krav Maga Basics class and the Monday & Wednesday Striking classes at no additional cost.
The inaugural meeting of the Charlottesville Krav Maga Self-Defense Meetup Group took place on December 1st, 2012. It was a beautiful day & everyone enjoyed training Krav Maga in the great outdoors! At the request of the group, First Defense Lead Instructor, Nick Masi, has committed to travel to the area monthly to conduct workshops with the ultimate goal of setting up a Krav Maga center in Charlottesville.
In celebration of the Thanksgiving holiday, First Defense will be closed from November 22 to November 25. Our regular schedule will begin again on Monday, November 26. Have a happy & safe holiday!

Jonathan Levy successfully completed his Krav Maga Instructor course directly from Eyal Yanilov (assisted by Amnon Darsa) in 2001/2002. While living in Israel, he trained extensively with KM black belts at Gabi Noah's studio and has traveled abroad for continuing KM education (Budapest, Melbourne). He currently holds the rank of Graduate 4, awarded by Eyal.
